Andorra

Base: La Massana

Nestled between France and Spain, Andorra packs a density of climbs and elevation gain rare in Europe into a tiny territory. From La Massana, every ride starts with a climb — and that's exactly what makes it such an exceptional training ground.

Andorra has made its mark on the professional calendar with notable stage finishes, particularly at the Vuelta a España. The Port d'Envalira, the highest paved pass in the Pyrenees, and the ramps up to Naturlandia have seen the best climbers in the world peloton pass through, forging the country's reputation as a benchmark training ground.

The Playground

A concentration of Pyrenean climbs packed into a tiny territory.

From La Massana, access to the country's major ascents takes just a few minutes — a unique advantage for building a jam-packed trip without hours spent in transfers.

Port d'Envalira

The highest paved pass in the Pyrenees, at 2,408 m — a benchmark for any serious cyclist.

Naturlandia / Coll de la Gallina

Feared ramps, regularly used by professional teams for training camps.

Collada de Beixalis

A more low-key climb, accessible directly from La Massana, for some variety.

Profile for the climb starting from Andorra la Vella, the most direct route from La Massana. Three other sides exist (Ax-les-Thermes, Latour-de-Carol, Puymorens), which are longer — plenty of scope to vary the rides over several days depending on the group's level.
